You’re probably thinking, hey you said you weren’t having a wedding party! And you’d be right. We did say that, and we’re not having one. But wouldn’t it be fun to see how we might have dressed them if we did?
For the girls in the group, at first I thought green, because hi, love green. My favorites at the time were these two from J. Crew (which I would NEVER ask anyone to buy anyway because they are crazy expensive):
Then I moved on to the idea of finding vintage dresses with fun patterns or shapes in various bold colors. Some of my favorites from etsy (they all happen to be from honeybeevintage too):
Then I thought paisley! Then I thought polka dots! Then we decided to nix the wedding party altogether and the whole search became obsolete. Which was actually a huge relief for me.
As for the guys, well, we pictured them in something simple. Maybe grey pants and white shirts? Definitely no ties or vests or suit coats. We didn’t get too far on the male wedding attendants’ wardrobe before making our party-less decision.
However, there is one person who will stand up with us – the officiant. We have selected someone very special to us to perform the ceremony, and we’d like her outfit to sort of fit with the overall feel of the day. Mostly I don’t care what she wears, but I’d hate for her to show up in a skirt suit or something.
Maybe one of those fun vintage frocks will get worn after all!
I’m down with the no wedding party thing. But I like the idea od a guy in slacks, a shirt and a vest (no jacket). Something about that look that appeals to me.
Me too! I actually really like the vested look, no jacket. It’s so sexy right?
It’s hard to pick clothes for adults.
I told my bridesmaids they will definitely NOT be able to wear their dress again if I pick it.
My dream is for them to rock a bright crazy patterned dress. They may hate me a little bit, but I know, deep down, they still love me 🙂
